CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARTS COMIVIISSION <br />NIINUTES OF JUNE 21, 2017 <br />6:30PM <br />ROLL CALL <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. at Oxcart Pantry. <br />Present: Annie Kilbane, Stephanie Procter, Lauren Suter, Janelle Zauner <br />Absent: Jackie Anderson, Leah Rogalski Davis, Laura Simna <br />Staff: Planner James Aspery <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Stephanie moved to approve the Arts Commission minutes of May 17, 2017, seconded by Annie. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Salutations in the Sun <br />Annie and James expressed their satisfaction with the first-ever yoga event at North Olmsted <br />Park. They estimated 50 attendees participated in the event, with more likely to join in coming <br />months. The group agreed that the event is an impactful event for the community. James <br />informed everyone that the July 1 event will likely have to be moved to Clague Park or another <br />venue due to a soccer tournament taking over all of North Olmsted Park. He will reach out to <br />Leah and Jackie to work out a solution. <br />ONGOING BUSINESS <br />NOCS School Garden Proiect <br />Stephanie shared that the Garden Council is making strides towards a ground-breaking in July. <br />They have been awarded grants from Sodexo and the North Olmsted Education Foundation, <br />putting them at the halfway mark for project funding. A work day is still planned for August; <br />James will help coordinate mulch delivery with the Forestry Division. Arts Commission <br />involvement will be clarified as they establish the work proposed for the garden. <br />Westside Flea and Frostville Farmer's Market <br />The group reviewed the schedule for the June 24 market and decided on a"flower" craft for the <br />table. James will be purchasing multi-colored cupcake wrappers and Janelle will bring circle <br />paper cut-outs and glue sticks. Lauren will bring her large paper-punch to create more circles as <br />necessary. It was decided that the Commission will attend the July 22°d Frostville Farmers' <br />Market in a similar capacity. James will reaffirm member shifts and send out a follow-up email. <br />2017 Work Plan Discussion <br />Summer in the City - Sunday June 18, Julv 16, August 20 <br />James recapped the June 18 concert, stating that 50 people attended Colin Dussault's concert in <br />the Community Cabin.
