CITY OF NORTH OLIVISTED <br />ARTS CONdMISSION <br />MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 15, 2017 <br />6:30PM <br />ROLL CAI,L <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:31 p.m. in Council's Caucus Room. <br />Present: Jackie Anderson, Annie Kilbane, Janelle Zauner, Lauren Suter, Leah Rogalski Davis <br />Absent: Laura Simna, Jenny Taylor <br />Staff: Director of Planning & Development Kim Lieber, Planner James Aspery <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Annie moved to approve the Arts Commission minutes of October 18, 2017, seconded by Janelle, <br />motion passed unanimously. <br />OLI) BUSINESS <br />Veterans Tribute <br />Lauren informed the group that the crafts were prepared the week of the 11/13 and are currently <br />in her possession. It was agreed by all that members will deliver the crafts to VFW Post 7647 on <br />Thursday, November 16th at 10:00 a.m. <br />North Olmsted Noel - December 3 <br />The group shared updates on their event planning efforts. <br />Santa: Janelle confirmed that while Santa may not be able to use the City's ladder truck, she and <br />Annie will arrange for another mode of transportation for Santa's arrival. <br />Music: Leah confirmed that the NOHS choral group Special Edition will be performing at the <br />event and that the Commission will be donating directly to the group as a gesture of appreciation. <br />Vendors: Leah stated that although no applications may have been received by the 11/10 <br />deadline, she is confident that vendors will be submitting them in the near future. She will email <br />the vendors and urge them to submit their applications immediately. <br />Hot Chocolate: Janelle and James shared that they had already purchased the hot chocolate <br />supplies. Janelle stated that she is feeling prepared to tackle the hot chocolate with the help of <br />Jenny and student volunteers. <br />Crafts: Lauren stated that while there may be volunteer groups staffing crafts tables, she would <br />like to have a backup craft in the event that they do not work out. James added that the NOHS <br />Afterprom committee will be selling s'mores kits as fundraiser. Jackie strongly encouraged <br />members to consider donating supplies so that there is less of a burden on the committee in <br />purchasing the suppplies. <br />Outdoor Games: James confirmed that he is staying in contact with Stephy from Parks and Rec to <br />ensure that she has the proper direction when preparing outdoor games. <br />Bonfire: Janelle will send her Fire Department contact a friendly reminder to burn clean wood for <br />s'more cooking. <br />Sinage: James shared that the rack cards and pole banners were completed at the end of October <br />for distribution and installation. Yard signs will be coming within the next week and must be <br />installed in compliance with the City's sign regulations. Lauren will make directional sign <br />designs for use at the event. James confirmed that an illuminated ground sign will be on next <br />year's agenda well ahead of the event. <br />Volunteers: Janelle expects 3-5 volunteers from both SITES and Key Club.
