LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES FOR MEETING OF OCTOBER 9, 2017 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Dubelko called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers. <br />Present: Elizabeth Cardarelli, Jim Dubelko, Tom Dutowski, Sarah Egan-Reeves, Duane <br />Limpert, Gretchen Schuler <br />Absent: Jim Morse, David Neville, Paul Schumann <br />Staff: Planner James Aspery, Administrative Assistant Nicole Rambo-Ackerman <br />Mr. Limpert moved, seconded by Mr. Dubowski, to excuse the absences of Mr. Neville, Mr. <br />Morse and Mr. Schumann, motion passed 6-0. <br />REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Ms. Schuler moved, seconded by Mr. Dubowski, to approve the minutes of September 18, <br />2017, motion approved 6-0. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />17-9704; Cindv Sherwood; 26994 Butternut Ridge Road <br />Representative: Shaun Van Dyke, Fransiscus Roofing <br />Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness for a new roof. <br />Mr. Van Dyke stated they are tearing the roof off and installing a similarly colored dimensional <br />roof. Ms. Sherwood asked for information about what living in the historic district means for <br />homeowners. <br />Mr. Limpert moved, seconded by Ms. Egan-Reeves, to approve the Certificate of <br />Appropriateness for 17-9704; Cindy Sherwood; 26994 Butternut Ridge Road for a new <br />roof, motion passed 6-0. <br />17-9810; Old Town Hall; 5186 Dover Center Road <br />Representative: John Patrick Picard, Architect, 113 Lincoln Way West, Massillon, OH <br />Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness for an addition and alterations. Old Town Hall is on <br />the National Register of Historic Places. <br />Mr. Aspery stated that the Old Town Hall subcommittee met with John Patrick Picard, project <br />architect, on August 24th and September 7th. The August 24th meeting outlined the proposed <br />facility layout, which will consist of the current Hall and a single-story addition to the north. Old <br />Town Hall will be entirely renovated and used as a flexible space for civic and community <br />events, as well as Mayor's and Juvenile Courts. The exterior of Old Town Hall will remain <br />largely unchanged to retain its historical integrity- the most notable change will be the renovation <br />of the staircase on the eastern main entrance.
