CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARTS COMMISSION <br />MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 19, 2018 <br />6:30PM <br />ROLL CALL <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:32 p.m. in Council's Caucus Room. <br />Present: Jackie Chavez Anderson, Leah Rogalski Davis, Wilma Kepperley, Laura Simna, <br />Stephanie Procter, Jennifer Scofield <br />Absent: Janelle Zauner, Jenny Taylor, Annie Kilbane <br />Staff: Planner James Aspery <br />REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Leah moved to approve the Arts Commission minutes of June 20I', July 18th and August 15t' 2018, <br />seconded by Wilma, motion passed unanimously. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Yoga in the Park I September 1 <br />Leah confirmed that 75 people attended the fmal yoga event of the year. It was agreed by all that <br />the 2019 budget should include funding for another yoga season as well as a banner to be hung on <br />the gazebo advertising all event dates. <br />Onen Mic Night at Springvale Coffeehouse I October 18 <br />James confirmed that 3 performers were signed up with more applications on the way. Bob <br />Sammon is confirmed as the MC for the event. Jackie stated that she attempted to obtain dessert <br />donations from O'Neill Health but was unsuccessful. Jackie and James confirmed that the <br />centerpieces, dry goods and event banner will be reused from the February event. Leah will reach <br />out to prior performers to boost applications. The PA system will be run by Ty Craemer, the same <br />professional hired for the Party in the Park event. It was agreed that Commission members would <br />arrive for set up axound S:OOpm. <br />North Olmsted Noel I December 2 <br />Jackie confirmed that the Cabin is booked Friday and Saturday for set up. Her balloon artist <br />provided a quote for $325 for 3 hours. Leah shared her concern over the cost of the event. Jennifer <br />stated that she feels the rate is reasonable based on her recent experience. After some discussion, <br />it was agreed that the balloon bender will be booked at the stated price. Leah confirmed that she <br />will book the face painter at no cost to the Commission with the understanding that the entertainer <br />will operate on a suggested donation payment system. James will send Leah the updated vendor <br />application. Wilma will reach out to Scouts to work the hot chocolate station. Stephanie will work <br />on a selfie station and Leah will work on getting the chalkboard sign ready for construction ahead <br />of the event. Stephanie will contact her Scout colleagues to confirm craft activities. It was agreed <br />by all that a social media hashtag should be created and shared for the event. <br />Olmsted Performing Arts will be invited to serve as roaming greeters similar to their role at Earth <br />Fair and Arlene Cassara Dance & Theater will be invited to perform from 2:00-2:45pm in the
