CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br />FEBRUARY 3, 2005 <br />MINUTES <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Acting Chairman Maloney called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Acting Chairman J. Maloney, Board members; W. Kremzar, T. Kelly, N. Sergi and <br />M. Diver. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mayor Musial, Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, Assistant Building <br />Commissioner T. Rymarczyk and Clerk of Commission D. Rote. <br />Acting Chairman Maloney reviewed that there were 3 cases requesting 11 variances and 1 <br />special permit on the docket. He further advised that the board members had viewed the premises <br />involved for each case. Three votes are required for approval and in addition, each case would be <br />judged on the physical situation peculiar to itself, so that in no way is a judgment rendered <br />considered to be a general policy judgment affecting properties and like situations elsewhere. <br />Prior to any further business, Mayor Musial swore in John Maloney to serve on the Board of <br />Zoning Appeals Board for a term to run 0 1/0 1105 thru 12/31/09. <br />Commissioners need to elect a Chairman and Vice Chairman for 2005: <br />W. Kremzar moved to elect John Maloney as Chairman for 2005. N. Sergi seconded the <br />motion which was unanimously approved. <br />N. Sergi moved to elect W. Kremzar as Vice Chairman for 2005. M. Diver seconded the <br />motion which was unanimously approved. <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />The Board of Zoning Appeals minutes dated December 2, 2004 have been submitted for <br />approval. <br />Chairman Maloney stated that the board received a memo regarding the Weber Automotive <br />variance request therefore the December 2, 2004 minutes submitted for approval would be <br />addressed at the end of the meeting. He further advised that the order of the agenda would be <br />changed to address Men's Warehouse before the Halleen KIA request. <br />III. BUILDING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />Betty Russo, 23906 Lorain Road, (WRD 3) <br />Request for variance (1123.12). The proposal consists of an extension to keep an abandoned pole <br />sign to remain on the property. The following variance is requested: <br />1. A variance for a non-conforming abandoned pole sign to remain on the property, (code does <br />not permit, applicant shows 1).
