CITY OF NOIZTH OLMSTED PLANNIIvTG COMMISSION COUNCIL CHAMBERS TUESDAY, JEINUARY 25, 2005 7:30 PIVI 1. CAUCUS: II. ROLL CALL: Chairman Koeth called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm PRESENT: R. Koeth, S. Hoff-Smith, M. Yager, J. Lasko, T. Hreha ALSO PRESENT: Planning Director K. Wenger, Building Commissioner D. Conway, Asst. Law Director B. O'Malley, L. McNabb, Planning Secretary ABSENT: W. Spalding III. REVIEV6' AND COItRECTION OF MINUTES: In regards to the January l lt" minutes, Ms. Hoff-Smith clarified her position in the final motion regarding Ord. 2004-200. She wished to change her vote to yes. Mr. Yager said on page 4 in the first paragraph, the word discussed should be changed to disgusted. Mr. Koeth moved to approve the minutes of January 11, 2005 as amended, Ms. Hoff-Smith seconded, which was unanimously approved. IV. COMMUNICATIOliTS: Mr. Koeth changed the order of the agenda items so that Conrad's and Laketec were heard before Shadow Wood and Halleen KIA. NEW BUSINESS: Conrad's, 4799 Great Northern Blvd (WRD 4): Proposal consists of building modifications. Note: The Architectural Review board addressed this proposal on 10/20/04 and 1/19/05. Ms. Wenger stated this proposal consists of building modifications, primarily the addition of a roof topper element to the existing building. This is the applicant's first appearance before Planning Commission. The ARB considered the proposal in November and January. The ARB made several recommendations, including enclosing the east side of the roof element and also making the roof a more regular and symmetrical. The changes were made and presented in January. After discussion, following are additional recommendations that ARB made: A) The roof would be a metal panel with raised ribs. B) Roof would come to a peak, instead of a flat ridge. C) EIFS restoration be continued
