? <br />1% <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />OLD TOWN HALL <br />MONDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2006 <br />7:00 PM <br />- MINUTES <br />1. ROLL CALL: <br />Vice Chairman Schock called the meeting to order 7:00pm <br />PRESENT: L. Orlowski, T. Dubowski, P. Schumann, L. Thogmartin, J. Lasko, D. Rerko. <br />ABSENT: B. Lord <br />II. REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />A motion was made by J. Lasko to accept the minutes from September l lth with corrections <br />and October 9?' as is, seconded by L. Thogmartin. The motion was unanimously approved. <br />III. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Holidav Event <br />The Commission discussed the possibility of a Holiday event, however the time frame is <br />.quite short and there would be little time to put things together before the Lighting <br />Ceremony. The Commission would like to distribute information on the History of North <br />Olmsted at the City Tree Lighting Ceremony. <br />The Commission discussed Fire Station Number 2. The Metroparks verbally agreed to place <br />the Historic marker in the easement area. Ms. Wenger said she would send a letter to the <br />Metroparks to formalize moving the marker to the easement area. <br />IV. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Certificate of Appropriateness Forms and Procedure <br />Planning Director Wenger reviewed the new forms for an application for a Certificate of <br />Appropriateness. Ms. Wenger discussed the rules and regulations and did research on how <br />other cities conduct these hearings: Ms. Wenger would like the forxns accessible on the <br />city's web site. To be on the agenda for a Landmarks meeting, the resident's information <br />must be submitted prior to the meeting. This will make the review by the Commission much <br />more efficient. Mr. O'Malley suggested amending the Standards and Guidelines section to <br />reflect that Landmarks follows the procedures outlined in Chapter 165, which includes the <br />US Department of Interior standards. Mr. Schock suggested a clarifying when the applicant <br />will receive notice. The Commission further discussed the idea of charging a fee for the <br />application to cover administrative costs etc. The Commission members felt comfortable <br />with an amount of $10, and will make the recommendation to City Council, which sets fees <br />via legislation. <br />V.
