LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MEETING MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 12, 2007 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chair Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in Old Town Hall. <br />Present: Paul Schumann, Dale Thomas, Larry Orlowski, Maryellen Davis, Tom Dubowski, <br />Tom Schock <br />Absent: Jeff Herwick <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />1VIr. Schock moved, seconded by Mrs. Davis, to approve the minutes of October 8, 2007, <br />which was unanimously approved, 6-0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Ohio Historical Marker <br />Mr. Thomas discussed the Springvale marker. Due to a misspelling on the marker there will be a <br />delay in planning a dedication ceremony. The marker is still in the service garage at City Hall. <br />Mr. Thomas stated that the company will take care of the additional costs. Mr. Schumann <br />suggested that the spring will be a better time to install the marker. <br />Seltzer Display Case <br />Mr. Schumann touched on the idea for the display case from the Historical Society. The city <br />approved the display case, however finances for the OHS are stretched at this time due to <br />restoring the church down at Frostville. In the New Year the Historical Society will have more <br />financial capabilities. The Board of Directors will meet in December. Angie Cadwallader would <br />also lilce to establish a fund for a marker for Frostville. <br />Betty Lord Proclamation <br />Mrs. Lord will be present for a proclamation by the Mayor at the council meeting on November <br />20. Mrs. Lord was pleased and honored. <br />Stearns Road <br />Mr. Orlowski said that Council passed an ordinance to ensure that the North Olmsted portion of <br />Stearns Road would retain its name after construction of the extension. <br />Fire Station #2 <br />Mr. Schock stated that they would notify Jack Boss and utilize a mason for the stone work. Mr. <br />Orlowski will recommend a mason to assist with the project. Mr. Thomas noted that the stone <br />work is on Metroparks property, however they will most likely not be contributing to the project. <br />Mr. Schock suggested making contact with the people for volunteer <br />assistance. The park will need to approve the final plan for the stone work. <br />Lead Removal
