CULTURAL ACTIVITIES COMMISSION <br />CITY OF 1VORTH OI.MSTED <br />FI20STVILLE MUSEUM <br />AUGUST 4, 2010 <br />MINUTES <br />ROLL CALL <br />Chait• Yusticlc called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. at the North Olmsted Library. <br />Present: Beverle Martindale, David Wahl, John Kepperley, Gerald Yusticlc, Barbara <br />Brown <br />Absent: Nasreen Starner, Miguel Cora <br />Guest: Frostville President Paul Schumann, North Coast Production Lisa Nemeth <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Kepperley moved, seconded by Mrs. Martindale to approve the July 7, 2010 minutes <br />which were unanimously approved 5-0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Juried Art Show <br />Mr. Kepperley said the high school art worlc was ready for judging and the commission would <br />issue ribbons for the following categories: Best of show, first, second, third place, and 6 <br />honorable mentions. Juried artists for August 8, 2010 tota127 participants each having their own <br />booth. He will arrive Sunday at 7:00 am to great the artists as they arrive and lunch vouchers <br />will be issued to each artist. He and Mr. Wahl will stripe the both layout at Frostville Friday <br />morning. <br />Citv Hall Art Gallery <br />Mr. Yusticlc said he viewed the art worlc at City Hall which is nicely presented. Mrs. Brown <br />asked how artists are advised that the city is taking applications from artists who would lilce to <br />show their worlc. Mr. Wahl said that the city website mentions showing art in city hall and the <br />commission briefly discussed only having local North Olmsted Artists show their worlc. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Homecoming Festival <br />Mr. Schumann said City hall is scheduled to have access to the tent Auglist 27th and would lilce <br />to do a USO night to salute veterans and have aslced the historical society if they have uniforms, <br />posters or any other items which could Ue used for the event. Cominissioners said not lcnowing <br />the Uudget the city is worlcing with will inalce it hard to give suggestions for the event. Mr. <br />Kepperley said he had plenty of big band music which he could provide for the night. It would <br />be good if they could have some performers dancing.
