-w- <br />LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES FOR DECEMBER 13, 2010 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers and Mr. Dubowslci <br />led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Present: Paul Schumann, Dale Thomas, Don Rerlco, David Neville, Albert Richner, Marlc <br />Mahoney, Tom Dubowslci, Maryellen Davis <br />Absent: John Laslco <br />Staff: Director of Planning and Development Kiinberly Wenger, Clerk of Commissions <br />Donna Rote <br />REVIEW AND C012RECTION OF 1VIINUTES <br />Mr. Neville moved, seconded by Mr. Rerko, to approve the November 8, 2010 minutes as <br />amended which was approved 8-0. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Historic I)istrict Desi2n Guidelines <br />Mr. Neville said the pamphlet should feature Mr. Schumaiin's home on the cover as its <br />restoration was significant and the home has curb appeal. Mr. Schumann said a recently . <br />renovated craftsman style home which lines up with Kennedy Ridge is a good example of <br />restoring a home and adding an addition which reflects the period of the home. The owners did <br />an excellent job in staying true to the craftsman style. Ms. Wenger said having a before and after <br />photo of either home on the pamphlet would represent the guidelines well. Mr. Schumann said <br />the commission would lilce to send a letter to the owners of the hoine recognizing their worlc and <br />include an application with encouragement to receive a historic recognition plaque. Mr. <br />Schumann will provide information so Ms. Wenger can draft a letter. The Wiles home was also <br />suggested as being used in the pamphlet. Ms. Wenger said once final photos are added it will be <br />distributed to everyone within the historic district and the goal will be to have them mailed prior <br />to spring when many homeowners start projects. <br />Frostville Ohio Historic Marker Update <br />Ms. Wenger said the plaque had not arrived but the service department was asked to notify her as <br />soon as it's received. Mr. Schumann said there will be a date set for the dedication. Mr. Thoinas <br />noted the 2010 grant from Walmart that was applied for was not successful. <br />Desi2nation of Landmark: Knight-Biddulph house <br />The Knight-Biddulph recognition plaque is ready to be presented to the owner. The Commission <br />briefly discussed how and when to present the plaque to the homeowner. Ms. Wenger said it
