PLANNING & DESIGN COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MEETIIVG MINUTES FOR AUGUST 11, 2010 <br />ROLL CAI,L <br />Mrs. Meredith called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. in Council Chambers and led the Pledge <br />of Allegiance. <br />Present: Don Rerko, Ralph Bohlmann, Jim Cotner, Robert Parry, Melissa Meredith, Greg <br />Malone <br />Absent: John Lasko <br />Staff: Planning Director Kimberly Wenger, Assistant Law Director Bryan O'Malley, <br />City Engineer Pete DiFranco, Building Commissioner Dale Mitchell, Clerlc of <br />Commissions Donna Rote <br />REVIEW AND CORI2ECTION OF MINUTES <br />Mrs. Meredith moved, seconded by Mr. Rerko, to approve the Planning and Design <br />Commission of July 28, 2010, which was approved 5-0. Mrs. Meredith abstained. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />CMS09-05 WEA Great Northern Mall, LLC; 4954 Great Northern 1VIa11: <br />Representative: Evan Vlaeminck, Westfield Corporation <br />Ms. Wenger said Westfield Mall has requested an extension of time to start their previously <br />approved project. Westfield has Ueen worlcing toward executing their approved plan but has <br />experienced delays due to the complexity of the project and marlcet conditions. Their approval <br />expires this month and it is her recommendation that the Commission recommend City Council <br />grant Westfield a one year extension. Mr. O'Malley reviewed why the time limit ordinance was <br />created and recommended the Commission recommend Council grant a one year extension. <br />Mr. Vlaeininclc said they are seeking no additional rights; it is strictly an economic issue at this <br />time and the one year time extension is all they seek. Ms. Wenger said that the Commission <br />would move to recommend Council grant a one-year extension from their final approval date. <br />Mrs. Meredith moved, seconded by Mro Rerko, to recommend City Council grant CMS09- <br />05 WEA Great Northern Mall, LLC of 4954 Great Northern Mall a one year time <br />extension as requested, which was approved 5-0. Mr. Parry abstained. <br />CMS10-21 McDonald's; 27322 I,orain Road <br />Representatives: Dave Gnatowslci, construction manager; Jim Ptacelc, Larsen Architects, Don <br />Lusha, site manager; Steve Payne, owner <br />Ms. Wenger said the proposal consists of building improvements, site improvements and a new <br />sign paclcage.
