Todd Musial was present to observe and participate in the
hearing. Mr. Richner gave a detailed presentation of the history of the Biddulph home and
family. Mr. Musial said the report was well written and shed light on things they have noticed in
and around the home. The only change he requested was to indicate the current property owner
as the North Olmsted Foundation, Inc. Mr. Musial said there are not five bedrooms in the home
as indicated. The upstairs has two bedrooms and a bathroom. The main floor has a front room,
parlor and lcitchen area with stairs that lead to the basement. Ms. Davis said the upstairs
bathroam was once a ntirsery.
Mr. Musial said they are very excited about the home being historically recognized and support
the commission's efforts. They have cleaned the exterior of the home and have made some
interesting findings; in the front southeast corner of the lot they found the original sandstone with
rings in place which was used to tie off their horses. Their goal in purchasing the home is to
restore the home and use it for the Boy Scouts. The front room will be used for troop meetings,
the parlor a dedication room and the upstairs used as storage and supplies. The foundation
would like to erect a pole barn in the original location and reuse the sandstone found throughout
the site for fire circles and seating. He reviewed recent work done by volunteers. Ms. Davis
asked if the original shutters were found and Mr. Musial said they were found in the basement
however not in good enough condition to use at the moment. Mr. Musial said they are
considering a decorative sandstone fence along the front of the property which seems to be
historically accurate.
