Proposed Candlewood Hotel. located on the south side of Country Club Blvd., east-adjacent
to the newly constructed Homestead V'?llage HoteL Proposal to construct HoteL
Heard by planning commission March 10, 1998. Heard by board of zoning appeals March
26, 1998. Heard by architectural review board March 18 1998 and March 26 1998. Tabled
at planuing commission meeting of Apri114, 1998.
Mr. Melby, general contractor, explained the Apri124, 1998 drawings depict the following:
floor plans; eacterior elevations; site plan; preliminary grading and drainage; existing tree plan;
expanded site plan; sign plan; lighting plan and details; photometric contours and the
landscape plan. Mr. Me1by advised there would be zero foot candles at the properry lines and
the cut sheets are part of the detail included within the lighting plan. As explaiued in the
previous two meetings and per safety department recommendations there will be one access
dtive off of Country Club Blvd. along with..one access between the Homestead Village and
Candlewood Hotels. - In addition there will be one building sign on the north elevation, one
on the east elevation, along with a ground sign similar in size to the other two hotels
(Marriott Courtyard and Homestead V'illage). Mr.
Tallon requested that the developer use another shade of brick with less pink or red so that
the building is more towards the earth tones. The clerk noted she was unsure that the
arclutectural review board had the opportunity to look at the brick material, although they
had reviewed the Stucco sample board. Mr. Melby agreed the brick was not presented,
however architectural review board did recommend a comparable color scheme to the rest of
the building.
