CITY OF NOR'TH OLMSTED <br />"TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DlFFERENCEI" <br />BOARD OF ZONIlVG APPEAT S <br />MINUTES - MARCH 26, 1998 <br />7e30 P.M. <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Gomersall called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Chairman R. Gomersall, Commissioner J. Konold, and Commissioner T. Kobema <br />ALSO PRESENT: Assistant Building Commissioner Tom Rymarczyk, and Assistant Clerk of <br />Commissions D. Rote. <br />II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />J. Konold moved to apprave the March 15, 1998 corrected minutes. The motion was seconded <br />by, T. Koberna and unanimously approved. <br />Chairman Gomersall advised that each case would be judged on the physical situation peculiar to itself, so <br />that in no way is a judgment rendered considered to be a general policy judgment affecting properties and <br />like situations elsewhere. He announced since there were only three members present it would take three <br />affirmative votes to approve a proposal. <br />Sunnyside Tovota. (D. Pe t?on) 26890 Lorain Road: <br />Applicant requests tabling the Sunnyside Toyota sign proposal until the May 7, 1998 <br />meeting. <br />R. Gomersall stated our first case tonight is Sunnyside Toyota, and asked if anyone was present from <br />Sunnyside, they are requesting that we again table their request until our next meeting we have tabled <br />this twice I see no further reason to table it any longer, as there has been no further information as to <br />why they want it tabled. Is there any other board members that wish to address this. T. Kobema <br />stated i feel that we should vote on this now. T. Ryrnarczyk stated they did send a fax to the <br />Commissions office requesting their case be tabled until the next meeting. R. Gomersall stated I have a <br />copy of that here in front of ine. T. Kobema asked is there some kind of problem that they are not <br />telling us. T. Rymarczyk stated the sign issue is what they first came if for, but they do have excising <br />non-confornung signs on the pole and are not confornung they are trying to come up with a remedy. R. <br />Gomersall stated what kind of remedy do you need to take down a pole sign, they don't seem to want to <br />do that so they can come in, in three months or when ever they want to, but we are not going to be <br />talang the time of the clerk to keep typing up all the notices and then hold on it and waist their time. <br />R. Gomersall Moved to grant Sunnyside Toyota, (D. Peyton) 26890 Lorain Road their request to table <br />their proposal until the May 7, 1998 meeting. The motiori was seconded by T. Koberna. Roll call on <br />motion R. Gomersall, No: T. Kobema, No: J. Konold, NO: Request denied. R. Gomersall stated <br />their request is denied please notify them. 2. Dover Hair & Nails 4880 Dover Center Road: <br />Request for variance (1123.12). Request the following variances, a variance of 15.5' of sign face area <br />for a business unit the code pernuts 27.0' where as they have installed 42.5'. <br />Requesting a variance to keep 6 window signs as pernutted. WIlVDOW SIGNS. <br />Violation of Ord. 90-125, Section. 1163.11 (c), 1163.12 (g)
