? ' -- ? <br />Landmarks Commission <br />City of North Olmsted <br />Minutes of ineeting <br />December 13, 1999 <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:40P.M. All members present except Mr. Smeraldi <br />Approval of the minutes of the meeting of Nov. $. Moved by Mr. Gareau, second by <br />Mrs. Lord. Passed unanimously. <br />Old business: <br />Lois VanAuken volunteered to make a call to Rev. Matt Mangan, pastor of the <br />Grace Fellowship Church inquiring as to the whereaboufs of the plaque which was <br />presented to the building when it was the Barton Road Congregational Church. Much <br />discussion followed on the condition of the building. It was mentioned that maybe the <br />Rev. Matt be invited to our Jan. meeting. <br />Minutes are transcribed from tape which is rerecorded upon their approval. The only <br />tapes to be retained are those made of formal hearings. <br />Mr. Gareau reported that he and the administration agreed that the Landmarks <br />Commission would meet in Town Hall on their regularly scheduled night and time. <br />Mr. Gareau also reported that the administration would NOT ask Donna Rote to <br />be Landmark's secretary but that we would be allowed to use a transcription recorder <br />to tape our meetings - which we would transcribe for ourselves. <br />Mr. Lang reported on requests made of the Law Department to review our status <br />for CLG and the format of aQertificate of Appropriateness. It was decided that the <br />original of the Certifiaate would go to the property owner with copies retained by the <br />Commission and possibly by the Building Dept. It was also decided that no less than <br />three members of the Commission sign off on each project_ requiring the issuance of a <br />Certificate. <br />Mr. Lang reported that John Reitz might be interested in the Old Stone House <br />on Porter Rd..Discussion followed on the history af the house and noted that it was <br />included on our OHI. <br />Joe Lang reported on a meeting for the Ohio Bicentennial. He suggested that <br />the administra#ion invite the coordinator to a meeting of Goals 2000. He noted also <br />that the Ohio Humanities Council has grants availabte for the improvement of local <br />history. <br />New Business: Possibly submit an annual report as a review of our goals and a <br />boost for our budget requests. <br />Motion to adjourn by Mr. Miller, second by Mrs. Lord.
