IN COUNCII, CHAIVIBERS <br />H. <br />ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman Koeth called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Chairman, R. Koeth, Board members; K. O'Rourke, W. Spalding, T. Hreha, S. Asseff <br />ALSO PRESENT: Assistant Law Director, B. O'Malley, Building Commissioner, D. Conway and <br />Clerk of Commissions, D. Rote. <br />and J. Lasko. <br />ABSENT: Board member, C. ALLAN. <br />REVIEW AND CORRECTION OF MINUTES: <br />The Planning Commission minutes dated March 26, 2002 have been submitted for approval. <br />R. Koeth motioned to approve March 26, 2002 Planning Commission minutes as submitted. The <br />motion was seconded by T. Hreha and unanimously approved. <br />III. BUII.,DING DEPARTMENT REQUESTS: <br />1. Sears Automotive Center• 5000 Great Northern Boulevard <br />Proposal consists of an enclosure for waste oil receptacle and dumpster. <br />Chairman Koeth called a11 interested parties forward to review the proposal. Mr. Yann Cowart, the <br />Architect for Sears came forward to review the request. Mr. Cowart indicated that the purpose of <br />the request is to locate the waste oil receptacle and dumpster on the east side of the existing Sears <br />Automotive center, which faces S.R. 252. The structure is an 8'x 18-foot enclosure, which matches <br />the existing building. There will be a roof over the oil receptacle for additional containment. Mr. <br />Cowart presented photos of the site before and after to the board members for their review. The <br />enclosure will be constructed of the same materials the existing building is and will house both the <br />waste receptacle and the dumpster. Mr. Conway informed the board that the City code allows oil <br />waste receptacles inside but the Fire department has requested it be placed outside the building. Mr. <br />Asseff questioned if the oil would need to be hand carried to the oil receptacle. Mr. Cowart <br />indicated that the oil would be piped to the double contained receptacle, which will be equipped with <br />an a1am1, which will go off when the receptacle needs to be emptied. Mr. Koeth questioned if the <br />applicant scheduled pickup on a regular basis and if so how often. Mr. Cowart indicated that Sears <br />has scheduled a once a week pickup however, if there is a larger use in any given week the alarm will <br />go off letting them know they need to call for an additional pickup. Mr. Asseff questioned if the <br />public would be allowed to use the oil waste receptacle.- Mr. Cowart answered "No". Mr. Koeth <br />questioned if there would be a cover over the dumpster. Mr. Cowart indicated that there would only <br />be a cover over the Oil receptacle. <br />R. Koeth motioned to approve Sears Automotive Center of 5000 Great Northern Boulevard that <br />consists of an enclosure for waste oil receptacle and dumpster at the east end of the building as <br />submitted in plans. The motion was seconded by S. Asseff and unanimously approved. Motion <br />Carried.
