Mr. Sindyla said they are
proposing to put in a tower at a compound that is 60x60. The city imposed the requirement of a fence,
although the type of fence was not specified. He said O.D.OT. requires board on board fencing at this
type of installation. He said code requires the fence be 6-8 feet tall but O.D.OT. requires 7 feet. They
will have a 7-foot high board on board fence. It is pressurized wood. The code also requires that they
retain as much of the existing vegetation as possible. He referred to the plans and explained how they
wlll work with the existing vegetation. Mr. Sindyla said they are abutting fairly dense vegetation. He
said the code requires that they plant 6-foot tall evergreens around the compound. He added that
O.D.OT. requires that they build a berm around the compound. In the plans that were approved by the
city engineering department, it shows a 2-foot high earth berm surrounding the fenced area. He said they
would typically install arborvitae which is a generic evergreen tree however O.D.OT. requires something
along the lines of Austrian pines. He said there will be 22 evergreen trees on top of the 2-foot high berm
and they are staggered so there is a 2-row affect. The canvas that they use is a non-traditional shelter.
With companies like Nextel, Verizon, or AT&T, there are 10-foot tall shelters. They use equipment
cabinets about the size of a small refrigerator. The cabinets are about 6 feet and the cables come out the
top of the cabinets and go into the side of the tower. The existing fence on the site is chain link and it
will remain; they are going inside of that area. Mr. Sindyla said they are using the existing fence and
gate which O.D.OT. uses to haul material in and out.
Board Member's Ouestrorzs crnd ('onamerrls:
Mr. Zergott asked if O.D.OT. will continue to use that area. Mr. Sindyla said that he understands they
will continue to use it as a staging area. He said O.D.OT. asked that T-Mobile keep to the side so they
can still get in and out. Mr. Zergott asked what the land on the west side of the compound could be
