Mr. Richie the
contractor, Mr. Kotansky, the Architect, and N1r. Barrett representing the owners were present
to review the proposal.
The Chairman questioned if the applicants addressed each of the issues listed on the City
Engineers letter. The applicants suggested they addressed all the issues the engineer listed. The
architect reviewed that the structure would remain the same they would just be adding a
handicap ramp at the rear entrance. The ramp will be constructed out of a colored pressure
treated wood and will have a clear coat finish to seal it. There will be (7) seven trees added to
either side of the parking lot. The front of the site will be cleaned up and have new landscaping
added. The existing tree in the front of the building will have a planting bed added, for seasonal
flowers, mulch and the tree itself will be pruned. The chairman reviewed tha.t if the tree received
good pruning and maintenance it would look better and allow the flagpole to be seen. The
applicants submitted a new landscape drawing showing and the chairman suggested 5 Stella
Dora day lilies instead of dog lilies. It was suggested that most of the plants shown would stand
up to the deer feeding in the area. The silver maple tree will require consistent maintenance. The
applicants reviewed that the house committees will be in charge of making sure the grounds are
maintained. The applicants indicated that they would be replacing the panel in the existing
ground sign. The panel colors will be red, white and blue and read V.F.W. Post 7647. There will
be a new flagpole with tree spotlights as shown on tlie plan. The chairman suggested a
landscape bed be placed around the base of the ground sign to protect it from yazd equipment.
