RECEPTION OF VISITORS:
Mrs. Kubiak with the Olmsted Historical Society and applicants Mr. Dunlap and Mr. & Mrs.
Miller.
1VIrs. Kubiak reviewed that she was present to update the commission on the status of the Barton
& Lorain Road Church. They received a bid for moving the church. The Historical Society will
move the original structure and the bell tower only. They believe that the original structure dates
back to?Ihe year 1847 or 1848. They are currently awaiting the approval of the park as to when
the church can be moved in. The bid was lower than what was originally anticipated. There will
be a new foundation and minor work will need to be completed to an outer wall and the steeple
area. The new owners of the church will be paying to have the church moved to the park. Once
the church is moved she believes the remaining structures will be demolished. They are looking
at July or August as a moving date for the church. Chairman Lang indicated that the Historical
Society will go before the Landmarks commission for a letter of appropriateness to move the
structure and the new owners of the lot will need to go before the commission for demolition.
The commission is very happy the church is being preserved and looks forward to seeing Mrs.
Kubiak again when the Historical Society applies for the letter of appropriateness.
IV.
