He stated
that there were several great improvements to the ice rink. The City received a donation
of $9,000 in materials and in-kind labor from the North Olmsted Hockey Club to renovate
the studio rink. The renovation included replacing some of the wood side boards and
installing new white plastic and kick strip boards. It also included the glass, upright glass
supports and safety netting to enclose the studio rink just like the main rink. This
improvement will allow more use of the studio rink for hockey training especially during
late evening sessions when this rink has sat dormant. The ice rink bleachers were also
painted by volunteers coordinated by Taylor Goode, a North Olmsted Boy Scout who was
performing a service project for his Eagle Scout recognition. All the supplies were
provided by the City and the labor was coordinated through Taylor Goode at a cost
savings of over $4,000.

In July and August on-site evaluations were performed at the pool as part of the Aquatic
Examiner Program sponsored by the American Red Cross.
