Member <br />Todd Morgan, Commissioner <br /> <br /> <br />Absent: Richard Scott, Member <br />Axel Hoyer, Member <br /> <br />Visitors: None <br /> <br /> <br />Claire Hayes called the meeting to order at 7:10pm. Roll call was taken. No visitors were in <br />attendance. <br /> <br />st <br />Last meeting’s minutes were reviewed and no corrections were noted. Dave Gardner made the 1 <br />nd <br />motion to approve the minutes, with a 2 by Tom Jenkins. Roll call was taken and motion passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />REPORT BY TODD MORGAN, COMMISSIONER <br /> <br />th <br />Easter Open House on April 8 had a good turnout. Approximately 1500-1800 people were in <br />attendance. It is being considered to recommend to the Mayor that we move the Open House up <br />rd <br />to the 3 week in March and rename it Spring Open House. The reasoning is that in waiting until <br />April, the weather has a better chance of being warmer, thus keeping some of the attendees away <br />from indoor activities. Also, the thought would be to celebrate spring rather than Easter, which is <br />a religious holiday. <br /> <br />[Mr. Jenkins suggested that a spring preview and registration of the spring/summer programs be <br />considered at the open house.] Mr. Morgan stated that while we do offer registration for a few <br />programs, it would be difficult to do such a preview and registration, as the spring/summer <br />brochure is not yet completed at the time of the open house. Therefore, registration would not be <br />a feasible option. [Mr. Gardner suggested that posters highlighting new programs be placed <br />around the recreation center.] Mr. Morgan stated that we did highlight a few new programs in <br />the display case behind the ticket booth.
