MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE NORTH OLMSTED PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION November 8, 2004 Meeting called to order: 7:14 p.m. In Attendance: Norm Baxter, Member, Acting Chairman Ted DiSalvo, Commissioner Betsy Drenski, Assistant Commissioner Richard Jesse, Safety Director Randi Jones, Member Anna Kanis, Member Absent: William D. Kelley, Chairman John J. Lasko, Jr., Member Paul Miller, Councilman Visitors: Ronald Koch, Director of Fields, North Olmsted Soccer Organization VISITOR’S OPPORTUNITY TO ADDRESS COMMISSION Water Line/Pictures Taken Mr. Koch began his address to the Commission by expressing his appreciation for the support given to NOSO for the installation of the water line, wider than he thought and tested for its integrity. There are also sufficient numbers of places to hook up hoses. Mr. Koch took a number of pictures from its beginning to completion. He saw the valve works down below ground but never saw the meter; if it’s not, he knows it will be there. NOSO has done some work on the fields to repair the goal mounts; there will be good fields next year with controlled water application. Mr. Koch then reiterated that he took about 100 photographs along the way because he was very interested to see what was below the ground, etc., and asked for a power point presentation to the Commission next month. Mr. Jesse said it would be wonderful if the City could get copies of the photos. Ms. Jones asked what was unearthed while digging. Mr. Koch said that there was a pile of rocks, each about the size of a bowling ball. He recovered one piece of the clay conduit (tile) that was lying in the rubble. The crew was not impeded; they ran into a few rocks along the way, working as time would permit them. What Mr. Koch wished he would have done was put a line on the ground stating the date. The camera keeps a sequence of numbers on the pictures, copies of which he will be happy to share.
