<br /> RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />26000 LORAIN ROAD <br />MINUTES FOR MARCH 7, 2011 <br />7:00 P.M. <br /> <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mr. Groden called the meeting to order at 7:02 at the Recreation Complex Administrative <br />Offices and led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />Present: Terry Groden, Kevin Kearney, Ed Garrity, Paul Ruggles, Marty Clancy, Chris Scarl <br /> <br />Absent: None <br /> <br />Staff: Betsy Drenski, Commissioner; Chris Wetmore, Assistant Commissioner; <br /> <br />Visitor: Lenore Medykowski, Cleveland Edges; Linda Powell, Patron; Miguel Cora, NOSO <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />Minutes for December 2010 are approved as written. <br />Minutes for February 2011 are approved as written. <br /> <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER: <br /> <br />Ms. Drenski stated that the Spring and Summer Brochure is currently being created and there <br />are new programs that have been added along with a Special Events page. Jump Start Sports <br />is now part of our programming. They are a company that runs various clinics such as Lacrosse, <br />Basketball, T-ball, Football, Cheerleading and Olympics, there are some adult programs also. <br />The programs are of no cost to the Recreation Center with the exception of lining the fields at <br />the park, this is where all of the programs will take place. Ms. Drenski also noted the addition <br />of Wildfire Dance for ages three through high school and skateboarding lessons which will be <br />run by the Public Square Group, these are only some of the new and exciting additions to our <br />programming. <br /> <br /> As far as special events there will be an Eggstravaganza for the children at the North Olmsted <br />rd <br />Park on April 23 which will include the Easter Bunny, a D.J., face painting, coffee, juice and <br />pastries as well as a chance to win a gift card for Toys R Us. The Ice Show will run May 20 <br />through May 22 the theme will be “World of Imagination”. A Community Garage Sale will <br />th <br />take place on Saturday, August 6 in the Recreation parking lot. <br /> <br />
