<br /> RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />26000 LORAIN ROAD <br />MINUTES FOR AUGUST 6, 2012 <br />7:00 P.M. <br /> <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mr. Groden called the meeting to order at 7:01 at the Recreation Complex Administrative <br />Offices and led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />Present: Terry Groden, Ed Garrity, Kevin Kearney, Chris Scarl, Paul Ruggles <br /> <br />Absent: Marty Clancy, Chris Wetmore <br /> <br />Staff: Betsy Drenski, Commissioner; Michael Kish, Program Supervisor <br /> <br />Visitor: None <br /> <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The minutes for May 7, 2012 have been approved. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER DRENSKI: <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCE PROGRAM SUPERVISOR MIKE KISH: <br /> <br />Ms. Drenski stated after Pat Cunningham, part time supervisor, retired from the Tennis <br />department the position was changed to a fulltime position. Michael Kish was awarded <br />the position and will be supervising Tennis as well as overseeing other programs. Mr. Kish <br />stated that he is ready to help wherever needed while his prime focus will be on the tennis <br />courts. Last year we did not run any summer programs however this year we are in our <br />second session of our summer programs and our numbers are doing very well. The fall <br />programs are in place and we anticipate a busy season. We are trying some new things on <br />the tennis courts such as baseball and softball clinics on the weekends, we also opened the <br />courts to our summer camp to help utilize the space as much as possible. <br /> <br /> <br />SPECIAL EVENT UPDATE: <br /> <br />th <br />Ms. Drenski reported that the 4 of July went very well, we gave away 800 hot dogs. It would <br />be nice to have more people participate in the parade as well as try and get more people to watch <br />the parade. The Community Sale was a hit again this year with 14 people registered. We hosted <br />the championship swim meet in August that included teams from the surrounding communities. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
