S <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ARTS COMMISSION <br />MINUTES OF MAY 16, 2018 <br />6:30PM <br />ROLL CALL <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. in Council's Caucus Room. <br />Present: Jackie Chavez Anderson, Leah Rogalski Davis, Lauren Suter, Laura Simna, Janelle <br />Zauner, Wilma Kepperley <br />Absent: Annie Kilbane, Jenny Taylor <br />Staff. Planner James Aspery <br />REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Leah moved to approve the Arts Commission minutes of April 181", 2018, seconded by Janelle, <br />motion passed unanimously. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Earth Fair I April 22 <br />Jackie expressed her satisfaction with the third annual event and thanked all members for their <br />hard work in organizing the event. It was agreed by all that live music should be organized for <br />the 2019 event. Leah said that most of the vendors did well and expressed her desire to have <br />Smooth Rider return for next year's event. She also suggested placing the face painter by the <br />animals for future events. Janelle suggested that the group explore the company "Our Zoo to <br />You" to replace the petting zoo and Dr. Insecta. She will research this ahead of the first <br />organizing meeting in 2019. Jackie and Leah stated that the Olmsted Performing Arts performers <br />were a hit and should be invited back. It was agreed by all that Earth Fair 2019 will be held on <br />April 281". <br />Yoga in the Park <br />Jackie stated that 83 guests attended the May 5`" yoga event and shared her enthusiasm for the <br />fast-growing, family-oriented event. Leah mentioned that a wireless microphone system may be <br />required for future events, but it was agreed that Circle of Life Yoga can provide their system as <br />necessary. The next yoga date is June 2"d ahead of the Bike Path Beautification event planned for <br />later that day. <br />ONGOING BUSINESS <br />City Beautification Event I June 2 <br />Final details were discussed. James confirmed that the supplies have been ordered. Leah asked <br />James to create a Facebook event and to send reminder to members closer to the date. The <br />turnout is unknown due to a general lack of RSVP's, so Lauren agreed to reach out to local Cub <br />Scout troops to bolster attendance. Leah asked about painting the bike path safety bollards and <br />fence paining, to which James will look into with the Service Department. James asked members <br />to be at the Oxcart Pantry slightly around 12:45pm to help organize supplies and get situated <br />
