0 CITY OF NORTH OLMSTE® CIVIL S1=RVICE COMMISSION NORTH OLMSTED, 0141O MEETING OF CIVIL SERVICE -OjM 9, 1987 - 4:00 P.M. - TOWN HALL PRESENT: Members of the commission Pat Bahas, Tom Stroh, Bob Wendt, Secretary, Peg Hill. Meeting was held to evaluate the current City Clerk's certified list and discuss the upcoming City Clerk test. There is a need to validate the names of those persons, who are still interested in staying on the certified list, but not interested presently in being interview for a position. The commission requested that these people be contacted and return to the commission an up-to-date letter of intent. They then would have the option of re -taking the new test, or having their present scores computed into the new list of ranked candidates. Mrs. Bahas contacted McCann Associates and after disscusion found this could be apossibility. The discussion continued relating to the fact that any of the these candidates, interviewed for the position at the Senior Center, would not have that particular interview count as an official interview. The interview process was to be considered improper due to lack of some pertinent information regarding the position being omitted during this interview. Mr. Wendt questioned if Ms. Tylicki is still on the certified list. Mrs. Bahas replied that she was off the certified list due to the fact that she resigned her position at the Senior Center. Secretary informed the commission that the new test for Clerk is in the process of being advertised in three of the local newspapers. Test date will be June 30, 1987, and the last day to submit applications will be June 25, 1987. Study guider covering this test will be picked up with the application. With respect to the current candidates, if those on the list do not want to be considered for the opening at the Senior Center a new viable list will be developed through testing and the interview process will continue at the Senior Center. Commissioners discussed the upcoming test for police sergeant and the test to be given for bus mechanic for the North Olmsted City Schools. Mrs. Bahas requested the secretary contact Mr. Kline, North Olmsted Schools, and inquire if the mechanic is certfied by the state. If the mechanic is not certified we will contact various testing companies giving this type of test, and at the same time contact some of the other neighboring civil service commissions to pose the question. The police sergeant test will be given at the high school on July 15, 1987. Candidates for this test are signing a intent sheet at the police department and study guides are to be given to each candidate for testing. Mr. Stroh will test the officers with Mr. Wendt as monitor.
