Olmsted'"Community Cabin --Glenn Marks.adminis,tered the test and <br />IPMA furnished the test. We, expected 3`5`canddates but only 28 showed <br />up • <br />At the end`�of=;our meeting, the Commission set the passing score for <br />the Dispatcher test at 70. The envelopes were then,,.opened. There were <br />3 candidates who failed thisto°stmand 25 passed. The,,re'sults went out <br />to the candidates on January 27;;r'-1 94 <br />The Commission-ishoping to'give the>:w.Entry Level Police Exam. on <br />�+ Tuesday,= March 29, 1994:at 7 OO:pm at the Nor h Olmsted High School. A <br />new testing company, Standard and Associates ifrom Clicaga, will <br />provide ;:'the test and Jim Hines will;administe-t the exam -'and St. John <br />and West,Shore. will, ---give the agility` test There will be thumb <br />printing done before this exam. <br />F. <br />The Commission,uwill send Mike Gareatr=a letter; asking -if he sees a <br />problem if�we limit the amount of candidates to."take this Police test <br />to the first, 20,0 ap0.plications ' returned. The appl=ica,t'ions will need to <br />be returned t°o.,the;'Police Department and stamped inAt the time that <br />the applications are dropped off, the candidate will receive a study <br />guide <br />Chief Sefcek said that.:..for4a ii per-son.to get into the (O.P.O.T.C.) Ohio <br />Pease Officer Training Cotancil program that the candidate must have a <br />Chief sponsor them. Therefore, the amount of candidates with this <br />certification would be limited. Chief Sefcek felt we would be better <br />off to give extra credit for candidates with this certification <br />instead of limiting this test to only those candidates with the <br />certification. The Commission agreed and would like to give 3 points <br />to any candidate who passes the Police Exam. who has Ohio Pease <br />Officer Training Council certification. A copy of this certification <br />must be sent in with the application to receive the 3 points. Mike <br />Gareau will review these two decisions for the Commission from a legal <br />perspective and then will advise the Commission as to whether or not <br />we should do the above. <br />to <br />Chief Sefcek also said that he's been hiring a lot of good employees <br />in the Police Department and he felt that it is due to a good <br />screening process. <br />
