Thomay, and L.
Zolar, were present to help set-up the testing site, check ID's as candidates entered to take the
test and to observe the testing company administering the test.
Mr. Cummings indicated he felt the testing company was very good. Each Commissioner was
allowed to review the test once the test began, and he was glad he was not taking the test as the
questions were harder than he thought they would be. He reviewed that 136 people passed and
38 people failed the written test. Mr. Jenkins suggested that would be about 20% who failed
which is not bad. Mr. Cummings suggested the test should be designed so that you end up
with qualified candidates on the entry level list. Mr. Thomay indicated he thought Personnel
—Selection Services did a good job writing the test as well as administering the test. Mr.
Cummings agreed. No further comments were made.
B) The Commissioners will need to certify the results of the entry level Police Officers written
exam that was administered on February 26, 1999.
