CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />"TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!" <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION <br />MINUTES —March 20, 2000 <br />7:00 PM <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Chairman, Thomay called the meeting to order at 7:05PM. <br />PRESENT: Chairman, Thomay, Board members, L. Zolar and P. Farrell. <br />ALSO PRESENT: Police Chief Ruple, Councilwoman Janet Saringer, Captain <br />Wozniak, Lieutenant Wolf, Sergeant Cox, Sergeant Medves, Sergeant Miner <br />Patrolman Saringer, Patrolman Huspaska, Mrs. Deucher and Civil Service <br />Secretary, D. Rote. <br />II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: The Civil Service minutes of February 21, 2000 <br />have been submitted for approval. <br />J. Thomay motioned to approve the February 21, 2000 minutes as written. The <br />motion was seconded by, L. Zolar and unanimously approved. <br />III. REPORTS: <br />There were 8 correspondences sent and received. <br />Chairman Thomay reviewed the correspondences that were sent and received and <br />indicated that some of the correspondences would be covered in other sections of <br />the meeting. He questioned the Clerk about the state Personal Board Review <br />report that is due. The Clerk gave a copy of the State Report that was mailed out <br />that day for their review. <br />J. Thomay motioned to approve the correspondences as submitted. The motion <br />was seconded by L. Zolar and unanimously approved. Motion Carried. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS <br />1. The Board needs to certify the results of the Lieutenants Promotional Exam, held <br />March 4, 2000. <br />Mr. Thomay announced the results of the Lieutenants Promotional Exam; <br />candidate Ron Cox, was ranked I" with a score of 94.3 9; Jeff Medves ranked 2nd <br />with a score of 94.32; Jeff Miner ranked 3`d with'a score of 90.83 and Don Walling <br />ranked 4h with a passing score of 88.15. Mr. Thomay signed all the letters to the <br />candidates, which showed a breakdown of their results and included a strengths <br />and areas for improvement sheet, which is not part of the test.
