CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />"TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!" <br />[' CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING <br />MINUTES- JANUARY 219 2004 <br />COUNCIL'S CAUCUS ROOM <br />7:00 P.M. <br />I. ROLL CALL: <br />Acting Chairman Giesser called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Acting Chairman R. Giesser and Board member M. Ubaldi <br />ALSO PRESENT: Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley and Civil Service Secretary D. Rote. <br />H. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />The Civil Service minutes of December 15, 2003 are submitted for approval. <br />M. Ubaldi motion to approve the Civil Service minutes dated December 15, 2003 as written. <br />R. Giesser seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved. <br />III. CORRESPONDENCE: <br />There were 15 items of correspondence received and 1 piece of correspondence sent out. <br />R. Giesser moved to approve the correspondence report. M. Ubaldi seconded the motion, <br />which was unanimously approved. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />1. Update on status of receiving job descriptions <br />Ms. Giesser reviewed that at the last meeting the discussion of job description classifications was <br />tabled. In light of the Personnel Directors memo dated January 13, 2004 requesting each city <br />department review and update each job description she would like to leave the issue on the table <br />until the revised job descriptions are received, unless there are any objection. No objections were <br />made. <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />1. Commissioners need to review Building Inspector applications and either accept or reject them. <br />Ms. Giesser reviewed that there were 100 applications available 33 applications were picked up and <br />20 applications were turned in. Out of the 20 applications turned in all 20 paid the $10.00 fee and <br />each of the 20 applications had all the pages marked return with application returned. <br />R. Giesser moved to accept all 20 applications received for the Building Inspectors exam as <br />meeting the following requirements, 1). All pages of the applications have been returned. 2). <br />The processing fee of $10.00 was received from each applicant. The Commission leaves to the <br />appointing authority the right to review all other aspects of the candidate's eligibility at the <br />time the eligible list is certified and sent to the appointing authority from the Civil Service <br />Commission. M. Ubaldi seconded the motion, which was unanimously approved. <br />Ms. Giesser questioned who would be proctoring the Building Inspectors exam. Mrs. Rote <br />reviewed that Mrs. Ramsey from the testing company would conduct the examination and she <br />
