Ubaldi called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm <br />PRESENT: M. Ubaldi, W. Hohmann, and K. Zolar <br />ALSO PRESENT: Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, Secretary Donna Eccleston <br />DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />There were 7 items of correspondence received and 11 items of correspondence sent out by the <br />Civil Service Commission. <br />OLD BUSINESS: <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Remove David Pohlchuck from the Eligible List for Entry -Level Firefighter <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to remove David Pohlchuck from the Eligible list for Entry -Level <br />Firefighter on grounds that he no longer wishes to be on the list. Mr. Hohmann seconded the <br />motion and unanimously approved. <br />Consider the Certification of the Next Name on the Eligible List for Entry -Level Firefighter <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to certify the name of Mark Carbone to the Eligible List for Entry - <br />Level Firefighter and forward a copy of his application packet to the appointing authority. <br />Mr. Hohmann seconded the motion and unanimously approved. <br />Interview Ohio Assoc. of Chiefs of Police, Ramsey & Assoc. and Stanard & Assoc. for the <br />Promotional Police Chief test <br />Pat Ramsey of Ramsey & Associates summarized the promotional test process. There is more <br />weight for the assessments center than the written test the higher up in rank because it is more <br />administrative; written test can been omitted; pre-test orientation with candidates and Police Chief, <br />assessment centers are a series of exercises designed to generate job related behavior; the <br />Commission might use a structure oral interview, presentation and/or written exercise; there is a <br />panel of three (3) police chiefs; if there is a lower level test, chiefs as assessors may not be used; <br />chiefs prepare a series of questions for a structure oral interview; chiefs will give the candidates a <br />topic for a presentation and evaluate; behavior of a candidate is measured by oral and written <br />communication, leadership, judgment, command presence and interpersonal skills; candidates come <br />through one (1) at a time; go through the exercises; while the first candidate is going through the <br />
