CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM <br />MINUTES — DECEMBER 17, 2007 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />I. ROLL CALL: Chairman M. Ubaldi called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. <br />PRESENT: M. Ubaldi and W. Hohmann <br />ALSO PRESENT: Director of Human Resources C. Farver, Director of Public Safety L. Thomas, <br />Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, Civil Service Secretary D. Eccleston <br />II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />The Civil Service minutes dated October 15, 2007, November 5, 2007 and November 13, 2007 <br />have been submitted for approval <br />A general discussion commenced regarding revisions to the November 5th and November 13th <br />minutes. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to accept the minutes as amended. Mr. Hohmann seconded the <br />motion and unanimously approved. <br />An Order and Findings form for the appeals of the decision to lay off the classified Secretary II <br />positions at the Waste Water Treatment Plant and the Building Department was presented to the <br />Commission for consideration to forward to the appellants. In absence of the order form, the <br />minutes become the written order which provides a written record of what determinations were <br />rendered. The minutes can stand alone or this form can be added. <br />Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to accept the Order and Findings form as a reflection of the <br />Commission's judgment. The Order and Findings form along with the minutes and a cover <br />memo should be sent to the appellants. Mr. Hohmann seconded the motion and unanimously <br />approved. <br />III. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />There were 34 items of correspondence received and 22 items of correspondence sent out by the <br />Civil Service Commission. <br />A general discussion commenced concerning an online version of the Civil Service Rules and <br />Regulations. This can be put on the city's website. A notice can be added stating the Rules and <br />Regulations may be amended from time to time throughout the year and will be noted with a foot <br />note date. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Review the Draft Rules and Regulations from the Law Department <br />
