CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM MINUTES — MARCH 15, 2010 7:30 P.M. I. ROLL CALL: Chairman M. Ubaldi called the meeting to order at 7:27 p.m. PRESENT: M. Ubaldi and D, Dargaj ALSO PRESENT: Director of Human Resources C. Farver, Asst. Law Director B. O'Malley, Civil Service Secretary D. Eccleston 110001113 KI�1w7.��]►[i]�u11i;l1IYY� The Civil Service minutes dated February 22, 2010 have been submitted for approval. Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to accept the minutes as submitted. Ms. Dargaj seconded the motion and unanimously approved. III. COMMUNICATIONS: There were 7 items of correspondence received and 13 items of correspondence sent out by the Civil Service Commission. The City of Lakewood submitted a salary survey to the Commission. The Human Resources Department usually completes salary surveys from other cities. The survey has been completed and will be returned to the City of Lakewood. The Commission received a letter from the Director of Public Safety regarding the promotion of Patrol Office Mark Goodwin to Police Sergeant. The letter is in accordance to Rule VIII, Section 2d. The Commission will be deferring to the Collective Bargaining Agreement in the re- instatement/promotion of Mark Goodwin given that his demotion was part of the cut backs in 2009. Technically the Commission would not recognize this as in accordance with a particular rule because this is being done properly throughout another media; the Commission recognizes this letter as a courtesy. IV. OLD BUSINESS: V. NEW BUSINESS: Review and Approve State Personnel Board of Review Report of Activities for 2009 A general discussion commenced regarding the State Report; the Law Department's input. Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to approve the report to the State Personnel Board of Review. Ms. Dargaj seconded the motion and unanimously approved.
