Ubaldi called the meeting to order at 7:34 PM
PRESENT: M. Ubaldi and K. Zolar
ALSO PRESENT: P. Ramsey of Ramsey & Assoc., Director of Human Resources C. Farver,
Director of Public Safety C. Ritenauer, Asst. Law Director B. O'Malley, Civil Service Secretary D.
Eccleston
II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES:
I I l IIJI►,IlliIi]f►'Ya
IV. OLD BUSINESS:
011111111111190L,21-1161k,11063A
The reason for this special meeting is to finalize the details for the Promotional testing for Police
Lieutenant and Police Sergeant. Most of the details are set before the Commission and is just a
matter of creating some motions.
Finalize Details for Police Lieutenant Promotional Test
The dates for the promotional testing are May 22, 2010, Saturday, for the written examination at
10:00 AM and the oral assessment will be on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at 9:00 AM. The pre-test
orientation will be held before the written examination which might take one-half an hour. The
number of candidates that may participate in the examination will be five (5) and the Chairman does
not see a need to eliminate anyone from participating in the oral assessment if they pass the written
examination. The letter of intent should be sent by Wednesday, April 10 with a deadline of Friday,
April 23rd at 4:00 PM. Included in the letter will reflect that the posting will be forthcoming.
Passing score for the written examination will be 70%. A passing score for the oral assessment
seems counter productive. Ms. Ramsey indicated that the oral assessment is scored zero (0) to one
hundred (100). Extra credit will be for seniority and efficiency as outlined in Rule III, Section 7
and in reviewing the rules it does not explicitly designate military credit to a promotional level. Tie
score will be pursuant to Rule IV, Section 3, seniority. The weight, which was done in 2007, will be
50%I50%. A motion can be made at a later date to supplement the notice that the Commission is
going to approve this evening with sources. Ms. Ramsey will be meeting with the Chief sometime
this week to finalize the reference list.
Mr. Ubaldi made a motion to incorporate all details above for the Promotional Police
Lieutenant's Examination. Ms. Zolar seconded the motion and unanimously approved. Mr.
