CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING <br /> CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM <br /> MINUTES - FEBRUARY 25, 2013 <br /> 7:00 P.M. <br /> I. ROLL CALL: Chairman J.Barrett called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. <br /> PRESENT: J. Barrett, M. Ubaldi and M. Hayes <br /> ALSO PRESENT: Asst. Law Director B. O'Malley, S. Barrett and Civil Service Secretary D. <br /> Eccleston <br /> 11. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br /> Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Ubaldi, that the minutes of the <br /> September 17, 2012 meeting be approved as received. <br /> Motioned passed unanimously. <br /> Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Ubaldi, that the minutes of the October <br /> 15, 2012 meeting be approved as received. <br /> Motioned passed unanimously. <br /> 111. COMMUNICATIONS: <br /> There were 12 items of correspondence received and 8 items of correspondence sent out by the <br /> Civil Service Commission. <br /> IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br /> V. NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Received Correspondence front Entry-Level Patrol Officer Applicants <br /> The Commission received three appeals from Entry-Level Patrol Officer applicants. The applicants <br /> will be notified that their appeal has been recognized and will be set for hearing at the next <br /> scheduled meeting. The top seven (7) candidate scores will not be affected if appellants' scores <br /> were calculated differently. The appellants' application packets will be reviewed the night of the <br /> hearing. General discussion followed regarding protest by candidates during a promotional <br /> examination in the past. <br /> Chairman Barrett read a memo from the Police Chief regarding a candidate on the Entry-Level <br /> Patrol Officer Eligible List. In summary, Matthew Scalisi left a voice message with Lieutenant Ron <br /> Cox to voluntarily remove his name from the Entry-Level Eligible List. Lieutenant Cox responded <br /> by leaving a voice message and an email to send his request in writing. The Commission did not <br />
