CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM MINUTES - JUNE 16, 2014 7:00 P.M. L ROLL CALL: Chairman J. Barrett called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. PRESENT: J. Barrett, M. Hayes and K. Rahm ALSO PRESENT: Human Resources Director C. Farver, Asst. Law Director B. O'Malley, S. Barrett, and Civil Service Secretary D. Eccleston II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: The Civil Service minutes dated May 19, 2014 have been submitted for approval. Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, that the minutes of May 19, 2014 be approved as submitted. Motion passed unanimously. III. COMMUNICATIONS: There were 14 items of correspondence received and 20 items of correspondence sent out by the Civil Service Commission. IV. OLD BUSINESS: Hearings Regarding Removal of Names on the Patrol Officer Eligible List A hearing letter was sent to Ashley Ethridge and the candidate is not present. This candidate has been passed over three (3) times by the appointing authority and according to Rule VII, Section 9, her name will be removed from the Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List, Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, to remove the name of Ashley Ethridge from the Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List due to being passed over three (3) times by the appointing authority pursuant to Rule VII, Section 9. Motion passed unanimously. A hearing Ietter was sent to Steven Palka and the candidate is not present. This candidate has been passed over three (3) times by the appointing authority and according to Rule VII, Section 9, his name will be removed from the Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List. Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, to remove the name of Steven Palka from the Entry -Level Patrol Officer Eligible List due to being passed over three (3) times by the appointing authority pursuant to Rule VII, Section 9. Motion passed unanimously.
