CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM <br />MINUTES - JANUARY 26, 2015 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />I. ROLL CALL: Chairman J. Barrett called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. <br />PRESENT: J. Barrett, M. Hayes and K. Rahm <br />ALSO PRESENT: Human Resources Director C. Farver, Asst. Law Director B. O'Malley, S. <br />Barrett, and Civil Service Secretary S. Berkley <br />11. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />Tit Civil Service minutes dated December 15, 2014, have been submitted for approval. <br />Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, that the minutes of the <br />December 15, 2014 meeting be approved as received. <br />Motioned passed unanimously. <br />III. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />There were 7 items of correspondence received and 9 items of correspondence sent out by the Civil <br />Service Commission. <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Eligible List <br />Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, to certify Anthony Sessin II <br />from the Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Eligible List. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, to certify the amended Entry - <br />Level "Firefighter/Paramedic Eligible List. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Secretary 1'I Eligible List <br />Director Farver explained the Secretary I1 Eligible List has eight (S) names; three (3) of which did <br />not pass the background requirements. This puts the Commission in situation where the list is below <br />seven (7) names. Pursuant to Rule VII, Section 6 if the list is below seven (7) eligible candidates <br />then the list is no longer valid for purposes of appointments to entry-level. We have two (2) <br />vacancies, one (1) in the police division and one (1) in the building division that we do need to fill. <br />
