CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM MINUTES — APRIL 20, 2015 7:00 P.M. I. ROLL CALL: Chairman J. Barrett called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. PRESENT: J. Barrett, M. Hayes and K. Rahm ALSO PRESENT: Human Resources Director C. Farver, Asst. Law Director B. O'Malley, Fire Lieutenant B. Shlapack, S. Barrett, and Civil Service Secretary S. Berkley II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: The Civil Service minutes dated March 16, 2015 have been submitted for approval. Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, that the minutes of the March 16, 2015 meeting be approved as received. Motioned passed unanimously. III. COMMUNICATIONS: There were 5 items of correspondence received and 15 items of correspondence sent out by the Civil Service Commission. IV. OLD BUSINESS: Hearings Regarding Removal of Names on the Firefighter/Paramedic List Hearing letters were sent to Kevin Kulesa, Nicholas Pobega, Matthew Sullivan, Michael Kocon and Jordon Scheutzow; these candidates were not present and have been passed over three (3) times by the appointing authority. According to Rule VII, Section 9, their names will be removed from the Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Eligible List. Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, to remove the names of Kevin Kulesa, Nicholas Pobega, Matthew Sullivan, Michael Kocon and Jordon Scheutzow from the Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Eligible List pursuant to Rule VII, Section 9. Motion passed unanimously. Firefighter/Paramedic List Chairman Barrett moved, seconded by Commissioner Rahm, to remove the following names from the Entry -Level Firefighter/Paramedic Eligible List due to the receipt of the voluntary removal letters according to Rule VII, Section 10: Collin Cunningham and Chase Reagan. Motion passed unanimously.
