CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />SPECIAL CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM <br />MINUTES - AUGUST 39 2015 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />I. ROLL CALL: Chairman J. Barrett called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. <br />PRESENT: J. Barrett and M. Hayes <br />ALSO PRESENT: Human Resources Director C. Farver, Asst. Law Director B. O'Malley, Fire <br />Lieutenant B. Shlapack, S, Shlapack, S. Barrett, and Civil Service Secretary <br />S. Berkley <br />II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: <br />III. COMMUNICATIONS: <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS: <br />Amendment of Rule V1I1, Section 1 and 2 <br />General discussion commenced regarding an increase in candidates to be certified from seven (7) to <br />ten (10) and decrease the number of times a candidate can be passed over from three (3) to two (2). <br />Furthermore, Rule VII, Section 9 is similar to Rule VIII, Section I and will be discussed at the next <br />meeting. <br />Motion by Chairman Barrett, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, to accept the amended language as <br />submitted regarding Rule VIII, Section la and 1b and Section 2b. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />V. NEW BUSINESS: <br />Promotional Fire Captain Results/Eligible List <br />Chairman Barrett discussed the Promotional Fire Captain Examination results. Fire Lieutenant B. <br />Shlapack ranked number one (1). <br />Motion by Chairman Barrett, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, to accept the results from the <br />Promotional Fire Captain Examination. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />Motion by Chairman Barrett, seconded by Commissioner Hayes, to certify the Promotional Fire <br />Captain Eligible List. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />
