LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINUTES OF JANUARY 14, 2019 <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Neville called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers. <br />Present: David Neville, Elizabeth Cardarelli, Kevin Kearney, Jim Morse, Paul Schumann <br />Absent: Sarah Egan -Reeves, Tom Dubowski, Gretchen Schuler <br />Staff. Planning & Development Director Kim Lieber, Assistant Law Director Bryan O'Malley <br />Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Mr. Kearney, to excuse the absences of Ms. Schuler, <br />Ms. Egan -Reeves and Mr. Dubowski, motion passed 5-0. <br />COMMISSION ORGANIZATION <br />Elect Chair and Vice Chair <br />Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Mr. Kearney, to appoint Mr. Neville as Chair and Mr. <br />Morse as Vice Chair for 2019, motion passed 5-0. <br />REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />The Landmarks Commission minutes of December 10, 2018 are submitted for approval. <br />Mr. Morse moved, seconded by Ms. Cardarelli, to approve the Landmarks Commission <br />minutes of December 10, 2018, motion passed 5-0. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Year in Review <br />Ms. Lieber asked for Commission feedback on the draft Year in Review, which will be put into a <br />newsletter format once the content has been finalized. Mr. Morse and Ms. Cardarelli <br />recommended specific edits and clarifications in the document. The group discussed the tone of <br />the review, that it should not just be a promotion piece for the Commission but reflect the <br />realities of the year, good and bad. <br />Community Trainina/Heritaae Home Program <br />The presentation on Maintenance and Energy Efficiency of Older Homes will be combined with <br />the information session on the Heritage Home Program. It will be held on April 8, 2019 so that <br />there is time to send out the mailing to all qualifying homeowners. Mr. Morse wondered if the <br />proximity to the tax filing deadline would deter attendance. Ms. Cardarelli said she was not <br />trepidatious about the date, as community meetings were often held in April that were well <br />attended. Mr. Schumann asked how the event would be advertised. Ms. Lieber said in addition to <br />the mayor's letter, information will be posted on the website and sent out in various city e - <br />newsletters. She suggested providing some information on the Landmarks Commission at the <br />meeting. Mr. Schumann agreed it could be a good opportunity to educate the community about <br />
