Keith thought the indoor music went over
well and noted that there should be better signage connecting the Senior Center and Cabin. Leah
said that the rain plan worked well, even though it was the first time needing to use it, and noted
that the food vendors did decent. Cabin market vendors did well. It was agreed by all that while
the turnout was lower for this event, it was likely attributed to the cold and wet weather leading
up to the event. Laura felt more comfortable with the indoor layout as a parent of a toddler. The
group discussed whether or not the scavenger hunt idea was missing at this event. Janelle asked
how the face painter fared, with everyone agreeing that they still did very well and stayed busy
the entire time. Leah thanked everyone for the team effort and is looking forward to the 5th
annual event in 2020.
Yoga in the Park
Jackie stated that the attendance was lower than normal at the May 4th event, with 45 people in
attendance, but added that the event is still an important opportunity to bring people together and
get face time with members of the community. The return on investment for the yoga series is
worth the $80 per month based on the direct contact that members have with attendees. Jackie
added that the sound system is now being stored in her office. Ideas for handouts were discussed,
with James agreeing to work on a rack card to distribute to guests at the July event.
Party in the Park I July 27
Leah shared her excitement over the publicity that the event is gaining on social media, noting
that the Facebook event is currently the most popular Commission -organized event in recent
years. The musician selection process was determined and the Commission agreed to send Laura
their ten favorite artists so that a list of final artists can be created and contacted ahead of the
May 31 st deadline. Four performers will be selected to perform at the event for a total
