LANDMARKS COMMISSION CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 8, 2021 ROLL CALL Mr. Neville called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm via online public meeting. Present: David Neville, Jim Morse, James Gearhart, Paul Schumann, Gretchen Schuler, Elizabeth Cardarelli, Tom Dubowski (arrived during Year in Review discussion) Absent: Duane Limpert, Sarah Egan -Reeves Staff. Planning and Community Development Director Kim Lieber, Assistant Law Director Bryan O'Malley, Administrative Assistant Nicole Rambo -Ackerman COMMISSION ORGANIZATION Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Ms. Schuler, to nominate Mr. Neville for Chair and Mr. Morse for Vice Chair, motion passed 6-0. REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES Mr. Morse moved, seconded by Mr. Schumann, to approve the Landmarks Commission minutes of September 21, 2020, motion passed 6-0. NEW BUSINESS 21-18444; Zoltan Laszlo, 27554 Butternut Ridge Road Representative: Zoltan Laszlo, owner Mr. Laszlo is proposing to extend the kitchen ten feet into the rear yard. The roof and siding will match the rest of the house. The window on the east side of kitchen will remain but there will not be a window on the rear of the addition. Mr. Neville pointed out that it is the house west of the library and he thought it would be difficult to see the back of the home from the street. Mr. Laszlo did not think the neighbors would be impacted by the project. Mr. Schumann did not think the project would impact the view from the street. Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Ms. Cardarelli, to approve the Certificate of Appropriateness for a kitchen addition in the rear yard for 21-18444; Zoltan Laszlo; 27554 Butternut Ridge Road, motion passed 6-0. COMMUNICATIONS 2020 Year in Review Ms. Lieber reminded the Commission that the annual report format was updated a few years ago to include local and national news. Mr. Gearhart pointed out a couple typos and a revised, more complete draft will be sent out for further review before images are added.
