The project will include replacing the gutters, downspouts, ridge
vents and connections in addition to replacing sheeting if needed. Mr. Neville pointed out that
the soffit on the east side of the house also needs repaired. The change in color requires full
commission approval. Mr. Neville thought the dimensional shingle is an upgrade from the
existing three -tab shingle on the home and he did not think the proposal would be inappropriate
for the style of house. Ms. Najpaver said further repairs for the property have been discussed
with the owner and may be done in the future.
Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Ms. Egan -Reeves, to approve the Certificate of
Appropriateness for a new roof and gutters for 21-20264; Harry Skafidas; 27060 Butternut
Ridge Road, motion passed 5-0.
21-20347; William Freed; 27615 Butternut Ridge Road
Representative: Bill Freed, owner
Mr. Freed has lived in the home for approximately 48 years. The garage was damaged when a
tree fell on it during a storm and the structure has been removed. The new garage will be the
same as the previous garage except for an updated door which will look like carriage house
doors. Ms. Egan -Reeves thought the new doors would be an upgrade and would be appropriate
for the district.
