LANDMARKS COMMISSION <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MINTUES OF SEPTEMBER 20,2021 <br />ROLL <br />0,2021 <br />ROLL. CALL <br />Mr. Neville called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm via online public meeting. <br />Present: David Neville, Tom Dubowski, Sarah Egan -Reeves, Paul Schumann, James Gearhart <br />Absent: Jim Morse, Gretchen Schuler, Elizabeth Cardarelli, Duane Limpert <br />Staff: Planning Director Kim Lieber, Administrative Assistant Nicole Rambo -Ackerman <br />Mr. Dubowski moved, seconded by Mr. Schumann, to excuse the absences of Ms. Schuler, <br />Mr. Morse, Ms. Cardarelli and Mr. Limpert, motion passed 5-0. <br />REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Mr. Gearhart moved, seconded by Mr. Dubowski, to approve the Landmarks Commission <br />minutes of June 14, 2021, motion passed 5-0. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />21-20264; Harry Skafidas; 27060 Butternut Ridge .Road <br />Representative: Lisa Najpaver, Client Relations for Synchronous Construction <br />Ms. Najpaver said the roof is scheduled to be installed in two weeks and the owner's neighbor <br />has a similarly colored roof.. The project will include replacing the gutters, downspouts, ridge <br />vents and connections in addition to replacing sheeting if needed. Mr. Neville pointed out that <br />the soffit on the east side of the house also needs repaired. The change in color requires full <br />commission approval. Mr. Neville thought the dimensional shingle is an upgrade from the <br />existing three -tab shingle on the home and he did not think the proposal would be inappropriate <br />for the style of house. Ms. Najpaver said further repairs for the property have been discussed <br />with the owner and may be done in the future. <br />Mr. Schumann moved, seconded by Ms. Egan -Reeves, to approve the Certificate of <br />Appropriateness for a new roof and gutters for 21-20264; Harry Skafidas; 27060 Butternut <br />Ridge Road, motion passed 5-0. <br />21-20347; William Freed; 27615 Butternut Ridge Road <br />Representative: Bill Freed, owner <br />Mr. Freed has lived in the home for approximately 48 years. The garage was damaged when a <br />tree fell on it during a storm and the structure has been removed. The new garage will be the <br />same as the previous garage except for an updated door which will look like carriage house <br />doors. Ms. Egan -Reeves thought the new doors would be an upgrade and would be appropriate <br />for the district. <br />
