The paint has been purchased so
the project can be done as soon as the weather improves.
Halloween Events
Trek at the Rec was a success with about 150 cars participating. Out of eight entries, the Candy
Land -themed entry for the Halloween Decorating Contest was selected as the winner for this
year's contest. If the Commission wants to have the contest next year, social media and other
publicity efforts should be maximized to encourage more participation.
North Olmsted Noel
The group reviewed the Noel planning guide. The Friends Church group has proposed short
performances about the life of St. Nicholas in the lower level of the Clubhouse. The check-in line
for Santa will begin by the bar in the Clubhouse. From there, families will walk to the Heritage
Room to see Santa and exit into the Ballroom, where the vendors and Cleveland Brass Works
will be. The goal is to have visitors spread out throughout the venue to reduce the amount of
people massed in close proximity. Signage will be used to help visitors know what is located in
each area and volunteers will be available to assist when needed. Cleveland Brass Works will be
performing in the Ballroom from 2:30-4:30 and Special Edition will be performing on the
pavilion. NOHS students will be helping as Santa's elves again. A girl scout troop is bringing
holiday themed outdoor games to supplement Parks & Rec's games.
