CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING CITY COUNCIL CAUCUS ROOM MINUTES - FEBRUARY 26, 2024 7:00 P.M. ROLL CALL: Chair called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. PRESENT: A. Flannery, J. Cotofan, T. Fratini ALSO PRESENT: Public Safety Director J. Scofield, Human Resources Director L. Kidd, Assistant Law Director B. O'Malley, and HR Administrative Secretary D. Eccleston II. DISPOSITION OF MINUTES: Motion by Commissioner Flannery, seconded by Commissioner Cotofan to approve the minutes of January 22, 2024. Motion passed unanimously. Ill. COMMUNICATIONS: There were 2 items of correspondence received and 15 items of correspondence sent out by the Civil Service Commission. The Commission did receive from the State Personnel Board of Review their annual report for the calendar year of 2023 with a deadline of April 20, 2024. Also, the Firefighter/Paramedic Entry - Level Eligible List has been updated. There were three (3) new hires from that list, the list is due to expire June 12, 2024. The regular meeting of March 18, 2024 has been canceled and a special meeting will be held on March 25, 2024. IV. OLD BUSINESS: Police Officer Entry -Level Eligible List There are four (4) remaining names on the Police Officer Entry -Level Eligible List. Removal letters were sent to the remaining candidates and there has been no response from them. Motion by Commissioner Cotofan, seconded by Commissioner Fratim to revoke the Police Officer Entry --Level Eligible List due to lack of names. Motion passed unanimously. V. NEW BUSINESS: Police Lieutenant Promotional Testing There are six (6) Police Sergeants in the Police Department; however, four (4) Police Sergeants are qualified to participate in the Police Lieutenant promotional testing process. The qualified candidates are Police Sergeant Matthew Beck, Police Sergeant Charles Fioritto, Police Sergeant James Kaminski, and Police Sergeant Rory Kummer. The remaining two (2) Police Sergeants,
