BUILDING & ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />MEETING MINUTES FOR APRIL 1, 2024 <br />Please note that the recording system failed to record the meeting and the minutes are <br />based off of notes taken during the meeting. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Mr. Papotto called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. <br />Present: Bob Papotto, Ralph Mackey. Michael Kovach. Suzie Patton <br />Absent: Dan Rahm <br />Staff. Director Max Upton. Building Coordinator Katie Seeley. Coordinator Steve Holowicki <br />MEETING MINUTES <br />Ms. Patton moved to approve the meeting minutes October 2 �. 2023. January 8`". 2024 and <br />March 4"'. 2024; seconded by Mr. Mackey. All in favor: none opposed. <br />RESIDENTIAL APPEALS AND REQUESTS <br />33-2024; Arthur & Contina Lewis; 5125 Whitethorn Avenue <br />Proposal consists of a new garage. Propert} is zoned B -One Family Residence. <br />The following variance is requested: <br />1. A 338 square foot variance for area of private garage: code permits 750 square feet. applicant <br />shows 1088 square feet, Section 1135.02(B)(I )(a). Proposed detached garage 22 fee. x 27 <br />feet x 13 feet (594 square feet) Existing (yarage per Cuyahoga County Auditor: 494 square <br />feet. Total of two garages: 1088 square feet. Lot size: 41.553 square feet (.95 acres) <br />Representatives: Arthur & Contina Lewis and Duane Schreiner. <br />Ms. Seelev introduced the case to the board. It was mentioned that the applicants were <br />remodeling their attached garage into a living space which was the reason for the request of a <br />new garage. It was stated that if they had a permit for the renovation at the time. they would not <br />have needed to request a variance. however: due to monetary requirements for the addition. they <br />wanted to complete the new garage First. <br />Mr. Kovach moved to approve 33-2024: Arthur & Contina Lewis; 5125 Whitethorn Avenue: <br />seconded by Ms. Patton. <br />Motion Passed: 4-0 <br />39-2024; Stephen Konig; 5630 Pheasants Walk Drive <br />Proposal consists of a new storage building — Greenhouse. Property is zoned B -One Family <br />Residence. <br />The following variances are requested: <br />
