k <br />j <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2005 —164 <br />BY: Mayor O'Grady <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTON 167.04 OF CHAPTER 167 <br />(DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES) OF THE <br />ADMINISTRATIVE CODE FOR THE PURPOSE OF MODIFYING <br />AND UPDATING THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE DIRECTOR <br />OF HUMAN RESOURCES, AS AMENDED. <br />WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Mayor and the Director of Human <br />Resources that Section 167.04 of Chapter 167 of the Administrative Code be amended so <br />as to more accurately reflect the powers this Director, formerly known as the Director of <br />Personnel and Administrative Services, presently exercises and the duties she presently <br />performs; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, on the recommendation of the Mayor <br />and the Director of Human Resources, to accordingly so amend said Section 167.04; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMMTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 167.04 of Chapter 167 (Department of Human <br />Resources) of the City Administrative Code entitled "Powers and Duties," which <br />presently reads as follows: <br />"167.04 POWERS AND DUTIES. <br />The Department of Personnel and Administrative Services shall have the <br />following responsibilities which may from time to time be added to or diminished by the <br />Mayor and /or Council: <br />(a) Personnel. <br />(1) The Director shall develop a master employment <br />application form which shall be used in all departments containing <br />vital information necessary to administer the personnel records of <br />the City. The Director shall also maintain a file of such records, <br />which file shall include for each employee, evaluations, rewards, <br />disciplinary actions, commendations and any other correspondence <br />or pertinent information that may from time to time come to the <br />attention of the Director with respect to any specific employee. <br />(2) The Director shall establish a uniform system of <br />maintaining accurate records for all employees dealing with the <br />use and accumulation of sick leave, vacation time and personal <br />holidays. He shall communicate such information from time to <br />time as is deemed appropriate by the Director of Finance for <br />purposes of reporting such information to the employees on the <br />employee's pay stub. <br />
