k Ordinance No. 2004 -164 <br />(3) The Director shall be responsible for the <br />administration and coordination of all employee benefits for all <br />departments within the City. <br />(4) The Director shall be responsible for maintaining all <br />records for the processing of claims for Workers' Compensation <br />and unemployment compensation. He shall, when it is appropriate, <br />appear before the State agencies responsible for Workers' <br />Compensation and unemployment compensation, representing the <br />City's interest relative to claims made for unemployment and <br />Workers' Compensation. <br />(b) Equal Employment Opportunity.. The Director shall be responsible <br />for maintaining any and all records with respect to the compliance by all <br />departments regarding both employment and contracts with the City with <br />equal employment opportunity requirements of both the State and Federal <br />Government. <br />(c) Affirmative Action Policies. The Director shall be responsible for <br />continually monitoring, revising and enforcing the City's affirmative <br />action policies. As such, he shall be considered to be the Affirmative <br />Action Coordinator of the City and shall carry out all of the policies <br />established therein. <br />(d) Insurance. <br />(1) The Director shall maintain in his office the master <br />copy of all insurance policies maintained by the City, including but <br />not limited to, fire, casualty, hospitalization and life insurance, as <br />well as other coverage which may from time to time be obtained <br />by the City. <br />(2) The Director shall be responsible for administering <br />the self - insurance portion of all policies obtained by the City which <br />requires the City to pay all losses occurring under a certain <br />deductible amount. In that regard, he shall maintain a file on all <br />potential losses which are reported to the City and shall be <br />responsible for investigating those losses and reporting the same to <br />the insurance carriers of the City. He shall also cooperate with the <br />Law Department for purposes of settling claims against the City <br />that are within the deductible portion of the City's policy. He shall, <br />from time to time, appear in court if necessary to aid the Law <br />Department in defending the City against claims which fall within <br />the deductible portion of the City's insurance policies. <br />(e) Grants Administrator. The Director shall be responsible for the <br />coordination and administration of all grants within the City which are not <br />assigned to other departments. In this regard, the Director shall prepare <br />applications for grants and do all things necessary and proper to file the <br />application and meet the conditions of any grants which are awarded to the <br />City or any of the departments thereof." <br />BE AMENDED, AND, AS AMENDED, SHALL READ AS FOLLOWS: <br />"167.04 POWERS AND DUTIES. <br />The Department of Human Resources <br />shall have the following responsibilities which may from time to time be added to or <br />diminished by the Mayor and /or Council: <br />(a) Personnel. <br />
