Section 19: That all full -time personnel listed within this Ordinance, who were hired by the City prior to <br />January 1, 2005, having completed five (5) years of full -time service as an employee of the City shall be paid <br />an additional four percent (4 %) of their base annual salary thereafter as longevity increments until completion <br />of their tenth (10th) year of full -time service; after completion of their tenth (10th) year of full -time service, such <br />personnel shall receive five percent (5 %) of their base annual salary thereafter as longevity increments until <br />completion of their fifteenth (15th) year of full -time service; after completion of their fifteenth (15th) year of full - <br />time service, such personnel shall receive six percent (6 %) of their base annual salary thereafter as longevity <br />increments until completion of their twentieth (20th) year of full -time service; and after completion of their <br />twentieth (20th) year of full -time service, such personnel shall receive seven percent (7 %) of their base annual <br />salary thereafter as longevity increments for so long as they continue to be full -time employees of the City. <br />All full -time personnel listed within this Ordinance, who are hired by the City on or after January 1, 2005, <br />having completed five (5) years of full -time service as an employee of the City shall be paid an additional six <br />hundred dollars ($600.00) as annual longevity increments thereafter until completion of their tenth (10th) year <br />of full -time service; after completion of their tenth (10th) year of full -time service, such personnel shall receive <br />one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) as annual longevity increments thereafter until completion of their fifteenth <br />(15th) year of full -time service; after completion of their fifteenth (15th) year of full -time service, such <br />personnel shall receive one thousand three hundred dollars ($1,300.00) as annual longevity increments <br />thereafter until completion of their twentieth (20th) year of full -time service; after completion of their twentieth <br />(20th) year of full -time service, such personnel shall receive one thousand seven hundred dollars ($1,700.00) <br />as annual longevity increments thereafter for so long as they continue to be full -time employees of the City. <br />Section 20: That all full -time personnel listed within this Ordinance shall receive the following holidays off, <br />unless required to work by their supervisor or the Mayor in emergencies, and shall receive their regular rate of <br />pay: New Year's Day; Presidents' Day; one -half (1/2) day on Good Friday; Memorial Day; Independence Day; <br />Labor Day; Thanksgiving Day; one -half (1/2) day on Christmas Eve; Christmas Day; one -half (1/2) day on New <br />Year's Eve Day; employee's birthday; and three floating holidays. These holidays are not eligible for buy back <br />and if not taken after 12 months they can no longer be used. <br />Section 21: That all full -time personnel listed within this Ordinance shall be entitled to an annual vacation in <br />accordance with the Vacation Ordinance. All previous service as an elected city public official within the city <br />shall be considered full -time for the purpose of calculating vacation and sick leave upon retirement. <br />Section 22: Prior to January 1, 2005, all full -time personnel listed within this Ordinance shall receive three (3) <br />eight hour days off with pay, or may elect to be paid for three (3) eight (8) hours days, for each six (6) <br />continuous month period of unused sick leave. No month shall be counted in more than one period. <br />Effective January 1, 2005, each such full -time personnel who does not use sick leave time for any calendar <br />quarter (i.e., Jan -Mar, Apr -Jun, Jul -Sep, or Oct -Dec), shall receive eight (8) hours off or at his or her option the <br />cash equivalent of eight (8) hours, for each such calendar quarter. In addition, if such employee does not use <br />sick leave time for any calendar half (i.e., Jan -Jun, or Jul -Dec), he or she shall receive an additional eight (8) <br />hours off or at his or her option the cash equivalent of eight (8) hours, for each such calendar half. (This <br />provision shall be construed so that employees may receive no more than a maximum of forty -eight (48) hours <br />each calendar year.) Such bonus days may be taken at a time mutually agreeable to the City and the <br />employee. Such bonus days must be taken within one year of accrual. Up to one absence per year for <br />attending a funeral may be used without affecting eligibility for bonus days. <br />Page 7 of 8 <br />
