CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2005 - 52 <br />BY: Council Member Gareau <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 141.09 OF THE <br />ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, ENTITLED "ADMINISTRATIVE MOTOR <br />VEHICLE POOL" IN ORDER TO PERMIT THE MAYOR TO TAKE HOME <br />OVERNIGHT AND OVER WEEKENDS THE CITY VEHICLE ASSIGNED <br />TO HIS USE FROM THE ADMINISTRATIVE MOTOR VEHICLE POOL, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council, effective June 1, 2004, adopted Ordinance No. 2004 -41, which <br />created Section 141.09 of the Administrative Code and established an administrative motor <br />vehicle pool for the purpose of providing the Mayor and the City's Directors access to three City <br />vehicles assigned for such use in conducting City business; and <br />WHEREAS, given the time demands of the Mayor's office and in order to enable the <br />Mayor to make more effective use of the City vehicle assigned to him out of said motor vehicle <br />pool for City business, it is the desire of this Council to amend Section 141.09 of the <br />Administrative Code so as to permit the Mayor to take the City vehicle assigned to his use by the <br />Director of Public Service home overnight and over weekends; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 141.09 of Chapter 141 (Department of Public Service) of the <br />Administrative Code, which presently reads as follows: <br />"141.09 ADMINISTRATIVE MOTOR VEHICLE POOL. <br />(a) The Director of Public Service shall have the duty of establishing and maintaining an <br />Administrative Motor Vehicle Pool, which shall be under his direction and control. The pool <br />shall initially be comprised of the three (3) Service Department motor vehicles that previously <br />were assigned to the Mayor, the Director of Public Service and Public Safety for their exclusive <br />use. The Director of Public Service may, from time to time, replace the motor vehicles assigned <br />to the pool with other vehicles owned by the City, when necessary and in order to insure that the <br />vehicles in the Administrative Motor Vehicle Pool are of appropriate quality and service for the <br />City's administrative officials. <br />
