CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2005 - 52 BY: Council Member Gareau AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 141.09 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, ENTITLED "ADMINISTRATIVE MOTOR VEHICLE POOL" IN ORDER TO PERMIT THE MAYOR TO TAKE HOME OVERNIGHT AND OVER WEEKENDS THE CITY VEHICLE ASSIGNED TO HIS USE FROM THE ADMINISTRATIVE MOTOR VEHICLE POOL, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, this Council, effective June 1, 2004, adopted Ordinance No. 2004 -41, which created Section 141.09 of the Administrative Code and established an administrative motor vehicle pool for the purpose of providing the Mayor and the City's Directors access to three City vehicles assigned for such use in conducting City business; and WHEREAS, given the time demands of the Mayor's office and in order to enable the Mayor to make more effective use of the City vehicle assigned to him out of said motor vehicle pool for City business, it is the desire of this Council to amend Section 141.09 of the Administrative Code so as to permit the Mayor to take the City vehicle assigned to his use by the Director of Public Service home overnight and over weekends; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That Section 141.09 of Chapter 141 (Department of Public Service) of the Administrative Code, which presently reads as follows: "141.09 ADMINISTRATIVE MOTOR VEHICLE POOL. (a) The Director of Public Service shall have the duty of establishing and maintaining an Administrative Motor Vehicle Pool, which shall be under his direction and control. The pool shall initially be comprised of the three (3) Service Department motor vehicles that previously were assigned to the Mayor, the Director of Public Service and Public Safety for their exclusive use. The Director of Public Service may, from time to time, replace the motor vehicles assigned to the pool with other vehicles owned by the City, when necessary and in order to insure that the vehicles in the Administrative Motor Vehicle Pool are of appropriate quality and service for the City's administrative officials.
